How It Started
FOLC Without Cancer began with a single, very human moment. Jim was going through one of the toughest periods of his life—struggling with a difficult divorce and the heartbreak of not being able to see his daughter. In that space, where everything felt overwhelming, one simple thought came to him: “At least she doesn’t have cancer.”
It didn’t fix everything, but it shifted something.
Why We Exist
That moment became the foundation for something bigger. FOLC Without Cancer exists to remind us that even when life is hard, there are always people facing challenges we can’t imagine. It’s not about comparing struggles or saying one matters more than another—it’s about recognising that perspective can lead to compassion.
And compassion can lead to action.
Every contribution, big or small, is part of something meaningful.
What We Do
We bring people together to support those who are going through real hardship—especially individuals and families affected by cancer. Through fundraising and community-driven efforts, we help support charities, local initiatives, and people who need it most.
How We Think
At the heart of FOLC Without Cancer is a simple idea: if you’re in a position to help, you probably should. Most of us have something we can give—time, money, skills, or even just awareness. When those small acts come together, they create something powerful.
We’re not here to preach - just encourage.

We host community cinema events that bring people together in a relaxed, social setting. They’re accessible, enjoyable, and purpose-driven—raising funds while creating shared experiences that people genuinely want to be part of.
Building for the Future
While small actions matter, we’re also thinking big. FOLC Without Cancer is working towards major, high-impact projects—like building facilities worth up to £1 million that can support communities, provide services, and generate ongoing funding for charitable causes.
